Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Macrotarian ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you do not have permission to access the App.
Description of Service
Macrotarian is a mobile application that provides nutritional information for restaurant dishes in the United Kingdom. We aggregate and display macronutrient data (calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat) sourced from official restaurant nutrition guides and publications.
Macrotarian is an informational tool. We are not a healthcare provider and our service does not constitute medical or nutritional advice. Always consult with qualified healthcare professionals regarding dietary decisions.
Account Registration
To access certain features of the App, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use our services.
Subscription and Payments
Macrotarian offers both free and premium subscription tiers:
- Free tier: Browse restaurants and view dish names. Macro data is not visible.
- Premium subscription: Full access to all nutritional data, meal logging, filtering, and all app features. Currently £4.99 per month.
Subscriptions are billed monthly through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period.
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days notice. Price changes will not affect your current subscription period.
Nutritional Information Disclaimer
While we strive for accuracy, please be aware that:
- Nutritional values are sourced from official restaurant publications and may change without notice
- Actual nutritional content may vary based on portion sizes, preparation methods, and ingredient substitutions
- We cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of all information
- Restaurant menus and offerings change frequently; some dishes may be discontinued
Users with food allergies, medical conditions, or specific dietary requirements should always verify nutritional information directly with the restaurant before consuming any food.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute our nutritional database
- Use automated systems to access the App without permission
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Share your account credentials with others
Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, features, content, and underlying technology, is owned by Macrotarian and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our App without explicit permission.
Nutritional data displayed in the App is compiled from publicly available restaurant information. Individual restaurants retain ownership of their branding and menu content.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Macrotarian shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
- Health issues arising from reliance on nutritional information
- Service interruptions or data loss
- Unauthorised access to your account
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding any claim.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Macrotarian, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the App at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or us.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
